1. Who we are
Greedy.ae ("we", "us") operates a price comparison service for shoppers in the United Arab Emirates. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the rights you have over it.
2. Data we collect
Account data: if you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture — nothing else. Usage data: searches, product views and outbound store clicks, tied to a technical identifier rather than your identity where possible. Watchlist data: products you follow, your target prices and notification preferences. Technical data: IP address, browser type and device class, used for security, rate-limiting and analytics.
3. How we use your data
To run the service (show prices, sync your watchlist, send the price alerts you asked for); to keep the platform safe (fraud and abuse prevention, rate-limiting); and to improve it (aggregate, de-identified analytics about which products and stores people compare). We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising profiles.
4. Cookies
We use a small set of cookies: session cookies for sign-in, a language cookie (NEXT_LOCALE), and consent/preference cookies. Analytics cookies are only set after you accept them via the cookie banner. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time; core comparison features keep working without them.
5. Sharing and third parties
When you click "Go to store", the retailer and its affiliate network (e.g. Amazon Associates, Admitad) learn that the visit came from Greedy.ae — that is how commissions work; they do not receive your Greedy.ae account details from us. We use trusted processors for hosting and email delivery under data-processing agreements. We disclose data to authorities only where UAE law requires it.
6. Retention
Account and watchlist data is kept while your account is active and deleted on request. Outbound click records are pruned after 180 days. Server logs are kept for up to 90 days for security purposes.
7. Your rights under the PDPL
You have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, and to data portability. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office.
8. Children
Greedy.ae is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the date above. Material changes will be highlighted on the site before they take effect.
